Club Info
Since 1974, The Greater Pittsburgh Road Runners Club has encouraged and
promoted the sport of running for people of all ages and abilities within Western Pennsylvania. Health, fitness, fun, and adventure are the clubs primary goals. Road/Trail
distance runs within the club range from ultra marathons to one mile runs and are scheduled throughout
the Pittsburgh area monthly. All all welcomed and encouraged to come race with us. In addition, all races are "Walker Friendly". To find out details on the next race held in the Pittsburgh area, check out our upcoming schedule.
Membership, which runs from January to December, is open to all persons who are interested in recreational running and racing. Benefits of joining and opportunities to meet others who have similar interests include:
- A yearly banquet is planned at a local restaurant is planned to encourage socialization and to recognize runners for individual achievements.
- Participation in The Championship Club, a subgroup of GPRRC, which recognizes runners who participate in four runs and help with the organization and planning of one scheduled run.
- Discounts fees to GPRRC members are given at GPRRC races.
- Group runs in preparation for larger area races are also being planned.
